The team and its goals

Our specialist practice, located in the heart of Munich, was founded by Dr Dirk Steinmann, dentist, specialist and consultant expert in periodontics. Together with the rest of his team, Dr Michael Bauer, specialist in endodontics, and Dr Daniel Engler-Hamm, specialist in periodontics and implantology, Dr Steinmann has developed the specialist practice at the Frauenplatz into a centre of excellence in modern dentistry. On 1 November 2010, the team was joined by Dr Florian Kupper, whose focus likewise lies in endodontics.

A brief introduction to the team members:

Dr. Dirk Steinmann

The fact that we are able to retain teeth even for many years after they have suffered periodontal damage, often major, is proof that our treatment strategy is effective. We follow a transparent approach, involving precise diagnosis, detailed planning of treatment and comprehensive information. The result is that our patients acquire a particularly strong awareness of their own teeth. The challenge of meeting this objective is one we rise to every day.

Precision, time, and above all the improved visibility provided by microscopic techniques to support therapy, mean that outstanding long-term results can now be obtained in endodontics. Teeth which in the past would have required extraction or a traumatic root apex resection can now be treated minimally invasively and with predictable results. By means of the very latest expertise, special materials and technology, I aim to enable patients of our practice to retain their teeth well into old age.

Dr. Daniel Engler-Hamm, MSc

I am impressed by the advances in dentistry and the scope for further development in this area. Therapy for periodontitis is still often inadequate in Germany. My aim is to contribute to improvements in this area and to assist more periodontists on a large scale in their task of retaining their patients' teeth.

Dr. med. dent Florian Kupper

I find endodontics an exciting area, one which has developed at a tremendous pace, not least in the last ten to twenty years: beginning with new findings in the anatomy and pathology of the root canal system, through the introduction of new developments, in particular the operating microscope and electrometry, up to highly flexible nickel-titanium filing systems. Through continual further training in this area, my aim is to offer our practice's patients courses of treatment that reflect the very latest scientific findings. The patients' individual needs, well-being and health are to have priority at all times.
